Support to be provided within two weeks after application
Daejeon City announced that it will provide 35.1 billion KRW in support to help small business owners struggling due to prolonged high inflation, high interest rates, and an ongoing economic downturn.
The city plans to provide up to 500,000 KRW per business through a swift process to 86,400 small businesses whose sales in the previous year were less than 104 million KRW. The support funds can be used to cover management costs such as rent and fuel expenses incurred for business operations after 2024.
The sales for the previous year are based on the sales amount recorded in the Value-Added Tax Standard Certificate reported to the National Tax Service. For businesses established in 2024, the annual sales will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Businesses that are temporarily or permanently closed as of the announcement date, those with no sales in the previous year, non-profit organizations, groups, corporations, associations without corporate status, and those in industries excluded from small business policy fund loans such as gambling, entertainment, finance, and professional occupations, are not eligible for this support.
The application period is from the 21st to March 26, and applications can be submitted 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, through the Daejeon Credit Guarantee Foundation's online application system. From the 21st to the 26th, the system will operate on an odd-even basis according to the last digit of the business registration number to ensure stable online processing.
If small business owners submit their application with supporting documents after mobile phone identity verification on the online system, Daejeon City and the Daejeon Credit Guarantee Foundation will promptly review eligibility and plan to provide management cost support within two weeks of application.
For those in the digitally marginalized group who have difficulty applying online, as well as businesses with joint representatives, in-person applications will be accepted on weekdays only from the 28th at the 6th floor of the Daejeon Credit Guarantee Foundation.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "All five autonomous districts have come together to empathize with the difficulties faced by small business owners who are currently experiencing a severe management crisis, and we have actively cooperated to urgently secure the necessary budget. We will push forward quickly so that small business owners can feel the real benefits as soon as possible."
