Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Ministry of the Interior and Safety Data Administration Evaluation 'Excellent' for 2 Consecutive Years

Korea Transportation Safety Authority Receives Top Rating for Two Consecutive Years
Recognized for Excellence in Data-Based Administration Evaluation
Achieves High Scores in Data Analysis, Sharing, and Management Systems

The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) received the highest rating for two consecutive years in the data administration evaluation. This achievement is the result of efforts to apply data analysis in the field, such as selecting inspection points for hazardous materials transport vehicles through data analysis.

The authority announced on the 21st that it received the highest rating, "Excellent," again this year following last year in the "Data-Based Administration Status Check" conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This evaluation was conducted on 679 organizations, including central government agencies, local governments, and public institutions. Scores were given in three areas: data analysis and utilization, data sharing, and management systems, and ratings were assigned accordingly.

The authority scored 90.5 out of 100 in this evaluation, far exceeding the overall average score of 59.5 among institutions. This marks the highest rating for two consecutive years.

The authority has identified data analysis tasks and reflected them in policies, and has held data utilization competitions to discover related ideas. Additionally, it formed the first consultative body of related organizations in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region to strengthen data sharing and cooperation.

The most notable achievement was the street inspection method for hazardous materials transport vehicles. Moving away from the past practice of selecting inspection points based on experience, they analyzed transportation data to identify high-risk areas. Joint inspections were conducted at these selected points with the Fire Agency to enhance field applicability.

Jung Yong-sik, Chairman of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, said, "We will continue to identify data analysis tasks that the public can feel and strengthen cooperation systems among public institutions to lead scientific administration."
