Six New ODA Projects Announced by the Overseas Construction Association
Separate Supervision Agencies to Be Appointed for Enhanced Transparency
Self-Evaluation Services Planned to Improve Project Outcomes
The Overseas Construction Association has announced bids for six new public development assistance (ODA) projects under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport this year. The project budget amounts to approximately 21.199 billion KRW.
On the 19th, the association stated, "We have issued tenders for a total of six projects, including the Vietnam Urban Maintenance Project (4.9 billion KRW), the Indonesia Geospatial Information Project (4.99 billion KRW), as well as the Colombia Cadastre Project, Mongolia and Cambodia Road and Transportation System Digitalization Projects, and the Ukraine Construction Machinery Training Project."
This year marks the fifth year since the association was designated as the dedicated agency. They plan to further enhance transparency and professionalism in project management. An independent supervision agency will be selected separately from the executing organizations to strictly operate the inspection system. In the second half of the year, four supervision service contracts in the information systems field will also be separately tendered.

In June, they also plan to issue a self-evaluation service for four projects: three completed last year and one concluding this year. The goal is to thoroughly review project outcomes and address any shortcomings.
Kwon Myung-kwang, Director of the International Development Cooperation Center at the Overseas Construction Association, said, "The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport ODA projects will support domestic construction companies' overseas expansion and serve as a foundation to achieve the cumulative order target of 20 billion USD. We will strive to operate the procurement system more transparently and fairly so that public and private institutions can actively participate."
