REITs Industry Welcomes Government's Measures
to Supplement Regional Construction Market

The REITs industry has expressed a welcoming stance toward the government's measures to supplement the regional construction market.

The Korea REITs Association stated on the 19th, "The measures announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport are expected to help resolve unsold housing in local areas and restore buyer sentiment in the housing market," adding, "The REITs industry also plans to actively launch REIT products related to unsold housing in line with the policy's intent."

On the same day, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport introduced measures to supplement the regional construction market. The government decided to expand the purchase-type registered rental housing, which had been allowed only for non-apartments, to include unsold apartments (under 85㎡ exclusive area) completed in local areas. Additionally, consulting support and other assistance will be provided to corporate restructuring (CR) REITs that buy and operate unsold housing to help launch such products.
