Guide to Compensation Procedures for Work-Related Injuries in the Public Sector
A guide containing the procedures that officials in charge need to know to support public officials or their bereaved families who have been injured or fallen ill while working has been published.
The Ministry of Personnel Management and the Government Employees Pension Service announced on the 19th that they have published and distributed a practical guide to assist personnel responsible for procedures related to work-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths at central administrative agencies, local governments, and other organizations.
The guide includes procedures by type to help agency personnel who directly guide and handle compensation procedures efficiently when a work-related injury occurs.
Unlike previous materials focused mainly on explaining the system, this guide is organized to be immediately applicable in practice, detailing step-by-step methods, claim types, and specific situations, covering the process from injury compensation claims to notification of review results.
The Ministry of Personnel Management explained, "We focused on improving the efficiency of practitioners' work so that bereaved families or public officials can receive injury compensation promptly," adding, "We provide customized guidance according to claim methods such as online (Comprehensive Injury Compensation Portal) and postal submissions, allowing agencies to refer to the information according to their circumstances."
The guide will be distributed to a total of 492 central administrative agencies, local governments, and educational autonomous bodies, and can be accessed on the Ministry of Personnel Management website (www.mpm.go.kr).
