Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do), Department of Early Childhood Education (Department Head Jwa Seung-hwa), announced on the 19th that it produced the second-highest scorer in the 2025 Busan Metropolitan City Public Special School Kindergarten Teacher Appointment Examination.
The second-highest scorer is graduate Lee Na-won, class of 2012 from the Department of Early Childhood Education. This year, the competition rate for the general selection of early childhood special education teachers in the Busan area was 5.8 to 1, with 29 applicants competing for 5 positions. Lee Na-won graduated from the Department of Early Childhood Education, worked at a private kindergarten, earned a master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the Graduate School of Education at Pusan National University, and was selected as a public early childhood special education teacher this time.
Lee passed the first stage of the appointment exam with excellent scores, then passed the second stage, which included an in-depth interview, teaching and learning process plan, and teaching demonstration, ultimately passing as the second highest scorer.
The Department of Early Childhood Education at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has produced successful candidates for the public kindergarten teacher appointment exam in 2016 (2 candidates), 2017 (1 candidate), 2018 (4 candidates), 2022 (1 candidate), and 2023 (1 candidate).
Lee Na-won said, “The process of preparing for the appointment exam was very challenging, but I am happy and proud to have achieved good results. The major courses at school were very helpful, and even after time passed, keeping the study materials and learning notes from the classes intact and using them during exam preparation was a great help.”
The department systematically supports students’ preparation for the appointment exam by establishing career plans, preparing for the exam, observing kindergarten classes to practice teaching demonstrations and prepare for in-depth interviews, and deepening learning through the bachelor's degree major advanced course.
Additionally, for graduates preparing for the appointment exam after graduation, the department supports mentoring by matching them with seniors who have already passed the exam and are working at public kindergartens.
