The Korea Fashion Industry Association held a board meeting and an annual general meeting on the 17th at the Youngone Trading Myeongdong Building, where it reviewed and approved the 2025 business plan and budget.
In his opening remarks, Association Chairman Seong Rae-eun said, “2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the association’s founding, a meaningful year in which we aim to reflect on the past and present of K-Fashion and take strong steps toward the future. We ask for the keen interest and support of our member companies.”
At the annual general meeting, the name change to the "Korea Fashion Association" was unanimously approved by the member companies. This decision was made based on the judgment that a more comprehensive name change was necessary to encompass the expansive meaning of fashion.
The membership fees will be extended through this year, with the discount rate gradually adjusted in the future. The association has been implementing a 50% discount on annual fees since 2021, considering the difficult economic situation.
This year’s business plans include ▲supporting the global advancement of K-Fashion, ▲strengthening competitiveness in garment manufacturing, ▲protecting K-Fashion intellectual property (IP), and ▲enhancing cooperation across streams and management capabilities. To this end, the association plans to deepen collaboration with specialized partner companies in areas such as distribution, logistics, and investment. Furthermore, it will establish awards for young manufacturing executives, expand communication with related organizations, and work to resolve difficulties faced by companies.
Meanwhile, Kim Seong-chan, who was appointed as the full-time vice chairman in 2022, was reappointed.
