Minimizing Side Effects of Mailing
Quick and Convenient Confirmation Available
Taean County, Chungnam Province, announced that it is providing a "text message notification service" to inform residents of the individual officially assessed land price decision notice via SMS.
Due to the strengthening of the Personal Information Protection Act, which restricts the use of personal information such as resident registration numbers and addresses, the county will discontinue mailing individual land price decision notices from this year and switch to online viewing and text message notification services.
Previously, the individual land price decision notices and objection guidance documents were sent by mail. However, since they relied on the address information of the landowner registered in the land ledger, there were issues where the intended recipients did not properly receive the notices.
To ensure smooth implementation of the service, the county has been providing advance notice about the discontinuation of mailed notices since 2023. In 2024, it is promoting the new system through individual land price decision notices, banners, and has established a text message notification application system on the Taean County website.
The county is accepting applications for the individual land price text message notification service year-round. Residents who wish to apply can visit the Real Estate Management Team at the Civil Service Division of the county office or their local town or township office.
Applications can also be submitted on the county website by clicking the application banner (popup) on the homepage or by navigating to 'Services by User' - 'Individual Officially Assessed Land Price' - 'Mobile Notification Service for Individual Officially Assessed Land Price.'
A county official stated, "The text message notification service for individual land price decision notices is expected to be especially useful for residents who are busy with their livelihoods and want individual notifications, as well as for seniors who have difficulty using the internet."
