Galaxia Moneytree recorded strong performance last year due to the rapid growth of its Moneytree Card business.
Galaxia Moneytree announced on the 17th that its operating profit last year grew 43.1% year-on-year to 13.2 billion KRW. During the same period, sales reached 128.8 billion KRW, and net profit turned positive to 1.8 billion KRW.
The rechargeable prepaid card "Moneytree Card," offered through a simple payment platform, drove the increase in operating and net profits. The market size for prepaid rechargeable cards, which enhance consumer convenience, has continuously expanded, and aggressive sales efforts rapidly increased the number of Moneytree Card affiliated merchants.
A Galaxia Moneytree official explained, "While the existing credit card payment business has been progressing steadily, the profit share of the Moneytree Card business launched in 2023 is increasing. Despite a reduction in scale due to the withdrawal of gift certificate merchants following the T-mep incident, we were able to achieve strong results through efficient cost management and the growth of the Moneytree Card."
The company plans to focus on new businesses, supported by improved profit margins. Based on its designation as an innovative financial service, it aims to strengthen its token securities-based fractional investment business and lead the market.
Meanwhile, Galaxia Moneytree received Korea’s first innovative financial service designation in April last year for its "blockchain-based aircraft engine lease-related trust beneficiary certificate investment platform service."
