National Hangeul Museum to Hold Traveling Exhibitions Nationwide

Exhibitions to Be Held in Gongju, Gumi, Busan, Gimpo, Gangneung, and Jeju

The National Hangeul Museum will hold traveling exhibitions at seven cultural and artistic institutions across the country this year.

On the 17th, the National Hangeul Museum announced that it will hold exhibitions such as 'Children's Country' and 'Modern Hangeul Research Institute' in Gongju, Chungnam; Gumi, Gyeongbuk; Busan; Gimpo, Gyeonggi; Gangneung, Gangwon; and Jeju this year.

The 'Children's Country' exhibition, based on the magazine 'Children' published during the Japanese colonial period, will be held at Art Center Goma in Gongju (March 13?May 11) and Gumi Culture and Arts Center (May 20?July 20).

The 'Modern Hangeul Research Institute' exhibition, which reinterprets Hangeul materials published in the modern era into design works such as crafts, fashion, and video, will welcome visitors at Gimpo Art Village Art Center (April 1?June 29) and Busan Citizens Hall (September 12?October 31).

The 'Can't Stand Dialects!' exhibition, held last year to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the National Hangeul Museum's opening, will continue at Ojukheon and Municipal Museum in Gangneung (July 9?August 31) and Seolmundae Halmang Exhibition Hall at Dolmunhwa Park in Jeju (September 22?December 7). Visitors can experience the languages and dialect-related content of dialect (regional language) speakers nationwide.

At the Chungcheongnam-do History Museum in Gongju, the exhibition 'Hangeul, Writing the Heart' will be held from March 27 to July 6, introducing Hangeul materials from the royal family and yangban class of the Joseon Dynasty. It will showcase works such as 'Jagyeongjeon-gi,' which reflects the royal family's filial piety, and King Jeongjo's Hangeul letters expressing family affection.
