WeChat, the messenger used for daily communication and financial transactions in China, is reported by local media to be integrating the domestic AI model DeepSeek and plans to utilize conversation data.
According to reports on the 16th, WeChat, operated by Tencent, is conducting small-scale tests to incorporate the DeepSeek-R1 model into its own search function.
Some users can obtain answers provided by DeepSeek-R1 by pressing 'AI Search' in the WeChat search bar and selecting options.
Chinese media explained that after trying WeChat AI Search, the answers include cited information such as recommended posts from official WeChat accounts and web pages, and there is an additional question feature at the bottom of the page.
WeChat is a messenger commonly used in daily life in China and also the most widely used payment system, effectively accompanying almost all user activities. This means WeChat will serve as a data source for DeepSeek.
