Up to 200,000 KRW Monthly Rent Support
for 12 Months
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam is promoting the ‘2025 Yangsan City Youth Monthly Rent Support Project’ to support stable housing for young people and improve local living conditions. Eligible youth will receive up to 200,000 KRW per month for 12 months (up to 2.4 million KRW annually).
Applicants must be youth aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Yangsan as of the announcement date, live separately from their parents, and are heads of their households. Income criteria require household income to be between 60% and 150% of the median income (based on health insurance premiums). Housing criteria specify that the deposit must be 100 million KRW or less, and the monthly rent must be 600,000 KRW or less.
However, homeowners (including household members), those renting from direct ascendants, residents of public rental housing (such as permanent rental, national rental, Happy Housing, LH purchase or jeonse rental), basic livelihood security recipients, and beneficiaries of other youth housing support programs are excluded. This program cannot be combined with the city’s ‘Newlywed Couple Jeonse Loan Interest Support Project,’ the ‘2022, 2023, and 2024 Yangsan City Youth Monthly Rent Support Projects,’ or the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support Project.
The application period is from February 17 to March 7. Applications can be submitted online via the ‘Gyeongnam Baro Service’ website or app, or in person at the local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center.
Applicants should note that this program cannot be combined with the currently running ‘Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support Project.’ Before applying, applicants should conduct a self-assessment (mock calculation) on ‘Bokjiro’ or the ‘My Home Portal (LH)’ to determine which rent support program fits their income criteria.
The ‘Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support Project’ provides up to 200,000 KRW per month for 24 months (up to 2.4 million KRW) to youth households with income at or below 60% of the median income.
A Yangsan City official stated, “Through this monthly rent support project, we expect to reduce the high housing cost burden on youth and create an environment where young generations can establish themselves independently and settle down positively.”
