On the 14th, Dongkuk Steel Group held a 'Donation Ceremony for Health Care Support Projects for Children from Vulnerable Groups' at the Ferrum Tower headquarters in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul, and donated 39.67 million KRW collected through employee welfare programs to the international child rights NGO 'Save the Children.' About 10 officials, including Shin Yong-jun, Head of Strategy at Dongkuk Holdings, and Kim Hee-kwon, Head of ESG at Save the Children, attended the ceremony.
Save the Children plans to use the donation from Dongkuk Steel Group to support examination fees, outpatient fees, hospitalization fees, and surgery fees for children under 18 years old living in low-income households in Korea who need examinations or treatment.
Dongkuk Steel Group raised the donation by collecting fees from the 'AlgoCare' club and the 'Healthcare' employee welfare usage fees.
The AlgoCare club is an in-house club established in July 2022 through collaboration with 'AlgoCare,' which provides personalized nutritional supplement services. The device usage fees are fully supported by the company, and monthly membership fees are accumulated to be donated at the end of the year. Over the past year, a total of 90 employees accumulated 26.14 million KRW.
Healthcare is a system established by Dongkuk Steel Group to promote employee health welfare by providing a space staffed with professional therapists at the headquarters, accessible to all employees. The donation amount raised this year is 13.53 million KRW.
Head of Strategy Shin said, "It is meaningful to deliver the warm hearts of each group employee," and added, "We wish for the healthy daily lives of growing children."
