Hansando-class ship visits Hansando, Tongyeong to promote love sharing and patriotic spirit

1.56 Million KRW in Scholarships Delivered at Hansan Elementary and Middle School Graduation Ceremony

Crew members of the Hansando Ship, belonging to the Naval Education Command, visited the Hansan Elementary and Middle School graduation ceremony in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam on the 14th to deliver scholarships and conducted a memorial service at Jejseungdang.

The Hansando Ship, the Navy's first training ship commissioned in October 2020, is named after Hansando Island in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, the site of the historic victory in the Battle of Hansan during the Imjin War and the location where the Samdosugun Control Office was established.


On the day of the graduation ceremony, the crew members of the Hansando Ship donated 1.56 million KRW in scholarships to Hansan Elementary and Middle School. The scholarships delivered that day were funded by the proceeds from the "Hansando Ship Love Sharing Bazaar" held on the 4th to establish the tradition of neighborly love on the ship, adding special significance to the event.


Yoon Bugum, principal of Hansan Elementary and Middle School, said, "It feels even more meaningful that the Navy came to the graduation ceremony of Hansan Elementary and Middle School, where the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the heroic general, is deeply rooted," and expressed sincere gratitude to the crew members of the Hansando Ship who gathered their sincerity for the children.
