iM Bank Introduces 'Donate' Feature on ATMs... "Spreading a Culture of Sharing"

iM Bank announced on the 14th that it will implement a ‘Donation via Automated Teller Machine (ATM)’ service to promote a culture of sharing.

Users can access the service by pressing the ‘cherry Donation’ button located at the bottom center of the ATM’s full screen and completing a simple consent procedure. Donors can select a donation amount from 5,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW in 1,000 KRW increments, and after confirming their contact information, the donation amount will be withdrawn from their bank account or card.

The donations are collected into the Cherry donation account and then ultimately donated to the nonprofit organization ‘Sadanbeop-in Yana’ under the name of the bank account or card holder. The funds are used to carry out charitable projects for self-reliant youth and children. Within 1 to 2 business days from the donation date, Cherry sends a text message to the donor for issuing a donation receipt, and donors can apply for the receipt after completing identity verification.

Donors can receive income and tax deductions for donations during year-end tax settlements, and donation details and usage information can be checked through the Cherry application (app) or website.

This introduction is the second donation service implemented following the agreement signed last year between iM Bank and the donation platform Cherry to jointly build a digital platform for spreading donation culture. Last year, iM Bank app users could access the Cherry donation platform via a ‘Donate’ link within the app to make donations.

The service was initially launched on some ATMs, including the ATM at the Daegu Suseong main branch sales department. Plans are underway to consider expanding the service to all ATMs.
