Pohang 'Taboso Taxi' Launches Point Accumulation Service... Increasing Benefits for Users

Full Effort to Establish a Successful Public Taxi Call Service Model

The public taxi call service "Taboso Taxi," operated by Pohang City, will start a point accumulation event for customers using automatic payment from the 17th.

This event was prepared to express gratitude to citizens for their support, celebrating the milestone of surpassing 20,000 members.

Since its launch in September last year, "Taboso Taxi" has continuously improved to provide a stable service, showing steady growth by surpassing 20,000 subscribers in February this year, just five months after its launch.

Although there were areas needing improvement, such as difficulties in app usage during the initial launch, the service has undergone seven updates by continuously reflecting the inconveniences of drivers and the demands of passengers on site.

As a result, as of February, the number of affiliated taxis increased to 1,100, and the call success rate rose to about 70%, indicating that the app has stabilized.

Based on this growth trend, the city plans to secure 30,000 subscribers by June and achieve 50,000 by the end of the year, establishing itself as a successful model for public taxi call services.

The point accumulation event will be held from the 17th to May 16th, and customers using Taboso automatic payment will accumulate points at a certain rate.

When paying with the Pohang Sarang Card, 20% points will be accumulated, and when paying with general credit or debit cards, 5% points will be accumulated. The accumulated points can be used to pay fares when using Taboso Taxi starting from March 17th.

This three-month passenger discount promotion is also being considered for additional extension within the budget allowance.

Heo Jeong-wook, Director of the Urban Safety and Housing Bureau, said, "Taboso Taxi is not just a simple transportation service but a platform that provides real benefits to citizens," adding, "We will continue to improve service quality and offer various benefits so that more citizens can conveniently use Taboso Taxi."
