He also stated, "Since the Prime Minister officially announced the establishment of a national medical school in Jeollanam-do last year, the government must keep its promise and promote it without delay," adding, "Establishing a national medical school through the integration of Mokpo National University and Suncheon National University is the optimal solution to resolve medical imbalance and strengthen the regional healthcare system. Through this, all residents of the province will be able to receive equal medical services."
He continued, "Even if the political situation is unstable, the government's promise to the people must be kept," and, together with the Jeollanam-do City and County Council Chairpersons' Association, strongly urged the government to swiftly proceed with the establishment of a new medical school.
Meanwhile, the statement, which was unanimously adopted at the Jeollanam-do City and County Council Chairpersons' Association, will be delivered to the National Assembly and related organizations.
