First Public Opening of Parking Facilities with Subsidy Support
24 General Spaces and 6 Compact Car Spaces, Total of 30 Spaces
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting users for the free opening of parking facilities at Daeho Elementary School, 661 Gwoldong, until the 25th.
This free opening is a sharing project conducted through a tripartite agreement between the school, Osan City, and Hwaseong Osan Office of Education at the end of last year. It is the first case where the city provides subsidies to the school for parking facility improvements and opens it to the public.
The free parking facilities include a total of 30 spaces: 24 general spaces and 6 compact car spaces. On weekdays, the parking is free from 6 PM to 7:30 AM the next day, and on Saturdays and public holidays, it is open 24 hours free of charge.
Applicants can visit the city's Transportation Policy Division to submit an application form and required documents. Detailed information can be found on the announcement board of the Osan City Hall website.
Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, stated, "We hope this free opening will help alleviate parking difficulties in the Gwoldong area," and added, "We will expand the sharing project not only to schools but also to religious and commercial facilities in the future."
Meanwhile, to ease downtown parking difficulties, the city completed the 'Gwoldong 3rd Public Parking Lot' with 112 spaces in the Singwoldong area last year. A parking tower with 521 spaces at Osan Station Transfer Parking Lot is scheduled to begin construction at the end of this month and be completed in the second half of next year.
