Selected for the "2025 K-POP Concert Support Project" by the Korea Tourism Organization
Boryeong Festival Tourism Foundation secures 200 million KRW in national funding
Boryeong City in Chungnam Province announced on the 13th that the Boryeong Festival Tourism Foundation has been selected for the "2025 K-POP Concert Support Project" hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization, securing 200 million KRW in national funding.
This project aims to actively attract foreign visitors to Korea through K-POP concerts, which are a core content of the Korean Wave, and to promote regional tourism by linking these concerts with the region's specialized tourism content.
The K-POP Festival IN Boryeong received high marks for attracting foreign visitors to concerts, plans for revitalizing local tourism, event appeal, commitment to project implementation, and disaster and safety management.
The city plans to maximize the synergy between the successful Boryeong Mud Festival, which attracted 82,000 foreign visitors last year, and K-POP, a key Korean Wave content.
During the day, the Boryeong Mud Festival will be held, while at night, K-POP concerts will be offered as part of a stay-type tourism package. Unique programs utilizing Boryeong's tourism resources such as Daecheon Beach and the undersea tunnel will also be introduced.
Additionally, various promotional activities will be carried out to attract foreign tourists, including collaborations with inbound travel agencies, publicity through overseas media, and the development of joint K-POP products linked with OTA platforms.
Mayor Kim Dongil said, "With this selection, the globally renowned Boryeong Mud Festival will be able to attract more foreign tourists and offer even richer content. We will do our best to prepare a K-POP concert that people from all over the world can enjoy and be excited about, welcoming both domestic and international visitors."
