Deliberations on Proposals Including Increasing the Provincial Share in the Gyeonggi Intra-city Bus Public Management System
The Gyeonggi-do Mayors and County Governors Association (Chairman: Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju) held the 7th regular meeting of the 8th term on February 12 at the Namyangju Gyeonggi Viewer Media Center, with a total of 31 attendees including the heads and deputy heads of all 31 cities and counties in the province.

The meeting, presided over by Chairman Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju, proceeded in the order of electing and approving the executive team for the latter half of the 8th term, followed by deliberation on agenda items proposed by each city and county.
During the agenda deliberations, a total of 34 items were submitted for in-depth discussion. These included 21 proposals to Gyeonggi Province, such as a request to increase the provincial share in the Gyeonggi intra-city bus public management system, and 13 proposals to the central government, such as suggestions for improving the autonomous management scope system when calculating penalties for standard labor costs.
In particular, among the agenda items, the association adopted a statement urging the adjustment of the cost-sharing ratios for the Gyeonggi intra-city bus public management system and school meal expenses, as the high cost-sharing ratios borne by cities and counties have been increasing their financial burden. The association agreed to strongly convey its position to Gyeonggi Province and the provincial office of education.

Chairman Joo Gwangdeok stated, "At this time, as we navigate a period of confusion, it is essential for all 31 cities and counties to come together and pool our wisdom," and added, "I will do my utmost to ensure that, through sincere communication with all 31 mayors and county governors, we can actively propose policies and improve systems so that local residents can truly feel the positive impact, and so that the livelihood economy can recover as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, for the executive team of the 8th term, Kim Kyungil, Mayor of Paju; Lee Kwonjae, Mayor of Osan; and Kim Deokhyeon, Governor of Yeoncheon, were elected as vice chairmen. Lee Choongwoo, Mayor of Yeoju, was elected as auditor; Bang Sehwan, Mayor of Gwangju, as secretary general; and Shin Gyeyong, Mayor of Gwacheon, as spokesperson.
The next, 8th regular meeting will be held in the second quarter, with Paju City selected as the venue.
