Traditional Folk Game Events Continue at Neighborhood Community Centers Until February 15
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pilhyung) is holding traditional folk game events in each neighborhood from February 11 to 15 in celebration of Jeongwol Daeboreum, the first full moon of the lunar year.
On February 11, Jeonnong 2-dong hosted a "Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Game Festival" in front of Yeomgwang Church, organized by the Village Event Promotion Committee (Chairman Cho Hyunseok). The event began with a lively performance by a pungmul band club, and approximately 400 residents enjoyed traditional games such as yutnori, tuho, and jegichagi together. Children from Dodam Daycare Center also participated in the traditional game experiences, creating special memories.
Residents also shared ogokbap (five-grain rice), namul (seasoned vegetables), and rice cakes, spending a warm time together wishing for health and well-being. The Dongdaemun-gu Public Health Center operated a mental health counseling booth, providing psychological counseling for senior citizens.
Dongdaemun-gu's Jeongwol Daeboreum folk game events will continue at each neighborhood community center and other locations until February 15. Mayor Lee Pilhyung of Dongdaemun-gu said, "I wish that the daily lives of our residents will be filled with hope and happiness throughout the year."
