On February 12, Mapo-gu Mayor Park Kangsu attended the opening ceremony of the inaugural exhibition '5Dubangjeon' at Seongrimsa Midam Gallery at 3:00 p.m., delivered a congratulatory speech, and viewed the works on display.
The first exhibition at Seongrimsa Midam Gallery, the cartoon content planning exhibition '5Dubangjeon', is being held from February 12 to February 17, 2025, showcasing works by five cartoon and webtoon artists: Gogun, Kwon Young, Shin Kyungsun, Moon Taeyeon, and Kim Seungyeon.
Artist Gogun is exhibiting 'Works that elevate Hangeul to art', Kwon Young is presenting 'Bongurim Friends and Miyu's 12 Zodiac Signs', Nau is showing 'The Four Heavenly Kings, Guardian Deities of Mount Sumeru', Moon Taeyeon is displaying 'Cloud Sheet' and 'Ilwol Obongdo', and Kim Seungyeon is exhibiting 'A Girl Surrounded by Medieval Patterned Costumes'.
The opening ceremony marking the start of '5Dubangjeon' was held at Seongrimsa Midam Gallery at 3:00 p.m. on February 12.
The event was attended by approximately 50 people, including Mapo-gu Mayor Park Kangsu, Korea Manhwa Contents Agency Chairman Cho Kwanje, former Chairman Lee Haekyung, Webtoon Association President Kim Shin, Korea Senior Cartoonists Association President Kwon Youngseop, as well as webtoon artists such as Lee Dooho of 'Meoteoldosa' and Lee Donggyu of 'I Like Scary Things'.
Mayor Park Kangsu stated, "I congratulate you on '5Dubangjeon', the first exhibition since the opening of Midam Gallery in October 2024, and I would like to thank Monk Hyundam and everyone involved for their dedication to this exhibition. Mapo-gu will do its best to provide a stage for creators to realize their dreams and to offer residents an artistic space in their daily lives."
