About 10 people attended the investment agreement ceremony, including Kim Jin-tae, Governor of Gangwon Province, Kim Myung-gi, Mayor of Hoengseong County, and Son Il-kwon, CEO of Wellpine.
Wellpine, established in 2009, is a company specializing in the manufacture of health functional foods. In 2017, it expanded its facilities and relocated its production plant to Hoengseong. Since then, it has steadily increased its production capacity, achieving sales of 43.1 billion KRW as of 2024.
In particular, Wellpine was honored with the grand prize at the 28th Gangwon Small and Medium Business Awards ceremony held last December, recognized for its technological innovation and contribution to local employment creation.
Additionally, in March of last year, Wellpine was selected as one of four leading green bio companies supporting the expansion of corporate distribution channels and corporate listing support, contributing to the development of the natural product bio industry, which Gangwon Province is actively fostering.
Through this investment agreement, Wellpine plans to invest 26.2 billion KRW to construct a second factory with three floors and an area of 8,465㎡ on a 6,095㎡ site near its existing business site in the Ucheon 2nd Agricultural and Industrial Complex in Hoengseong by July next year, creating 20 new jobs.
