President Park presented five key focus areas: ▲ strengthening the association's representation ▲ expanding global market entry for women-owned businesses ▲ fostering women-specialized technology-based industries ▲ improving support systems for women business development projects ▲ and enhancing win-win cooperation among women-owned businesses.
First, she plans to actively recruit young women entrepreneurs in their 20s to 40s, aiming for 10,000 regular members and 100,000 general members. President Park said, "We will develop policies reflecting voices from the field and create an environment where women can thrive in business."
Furthermore, she emphasized, "We will expand exchanges with overseas women’s economic organizations, hold global management training, and strengthen networks between overseas Korean women entrepreneurs and domestic women-owned businesses. In particular, we will actively support young women entrepreneurs so that more competitive women-owned businesses can emerge globally."
In addition, she plans to actively discover high value-added industries that combine women’s expertise and innovation, such as Femtech. She also intends to increase the efficiency of support projects in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurs Comprehensive Support Center and build a communication platform where diverse women-owned businesses can connect.
Minister Oh, in her congratulatory speech, said, "The role of women entrepreneurs is more important than ever to overcome internal and external difficulties," and added, "I believe the association will take the lead in driving new growth and leaps forward."
Lee Jeong-han, the 10th president of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, who was appointed honorary president of the association that day, said, "Running a business as a woman is truly lonely and challenging, but we have the association as a strong support," and added, "I will always support and stand with the association."
