Democratic Party Leadership Deems Remarks Inappropriate
Lee Jaemyung Urges Party Officials to Exercise Caution

Park Gu-yong, head of the Democratic Party's Education Training Institute, who caused controversy with derogatory remarks about the 20s and 30s generations, saying they should be isolated for their involvement in the Seoul Western District Court incident, has voluntarily resigned.

Hwang Jeong-ah, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, told reporters after the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 12th, "Director Park expressed his intention to resign to take responsibility for his remarks, and Representative Lee Jae-myung accepted it."

Spokesperson Hwang explained, "Representative Lee said that Director Park's remarks were inappropriate expressions and took this opportunity to once again urge party officials to be cautious in their words and actions."

She added, "The leadership agrees that Director Park's remarks were inappropriate," and said, "While it might be something one can say on a personal level, as a member of the Democratic Party, I think it was a very inappropriate remark."

Earlier, on the 8th, Director Park referred to the youth generation defending the Seoul Western District Court incident as 'lonely wolves' during a YouTube broadcast, claiming, "Now is the time to let them wither away and isolate themselves."

Director Park also said, "The biggest characteristic of lonely wolves is that they always want to follow someone. If they have money, they organize," adding, "It is wrong to consider whether to bring them into the Democratic Party. These friends do not reason but only calculate."
