293 Startups Discovered Over Three Years
Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 12th that it has registered the logo of its startup brand 'C-STAR' as a trademark with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
C-STAR is a project designed to support the growth and development of local startups, and the name combines the 'C' from Cheonan and 'STAR' from startup.
Over the past three years, the city has discovered and nurtured 293 startups, among which 87 companies successfully attracted a total investment of 89.4 billion KRW.
In particular, 48 companies under C-STAR were selected for TIPS, a flagship startup support program run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The city plans to strengthen the startup ecosystem by actively attracting private investment firms from the Seoul metropolitan area to create a regionally based investment environment.
