Sangmyung University Holds Orientation on Extracurricular Education System for Prospective Freshmen

Sangmyung University Cheonan Campus held an information session on the extracurricular education system "Peeroreum" for prospective freshmen on the 11th, hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation.

About 160 successful applicants for the 2025 early admission participated in the event, which included an explanation of the extracurricular mileage system, a special lecture on creative problem-solving, a team project challenge, and a campus tour.

Peeroreum is a term combining "Peer," meaning friend, and "Oreum," meaning growth, and refers to an extracurricular education system where students form project-based learning communities to solve problems creatively.

Sangmyung University currently operates about 100 Peeroreum programs, and provides separate scholarships to the top 40 students based on mileage.

This year, the university plans to run a program that comprehensively supports major exploration, academic adaptation, and emotional stability through close mentoring between faculty, staff, and students.
