Listening to Diverse Voices of Residents through the ‘Resident Win-Win Talk’
and Checking the Status of Major Project Sites
Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-su visited Hamyang County on the 11th and held a ‘Resident Win-Win Talk’ while touring major project sites.
The ‘Resident Win-Win Talk’ is a newly established communication program by Gyeongsangnam-do, where the governor meets directly with residents to listen to local issues and discuss policy directions.
About 170 people, including officials from related organizations and local residents, attended the event held at the Hamyang County Office’s main conference room, offering various suggestions.
During the talk, several proposals were made, including ▲support for the construction of a welfare center for the disabled ▲expansion of provincial funding for food expenses at senior citizen centers ▲improvement of access roads to the Shingwan District industrial and logistics complex ▲expansion of support for young farmers ▲operation of a mobile youth culture center.
Governor Park Wan-su listened attentively to the residents’ opinions and sought solutions together, stating, “We will actively review these to reflect them in policies that provide practical help to our residents,” and added, “Based on this year’s Gyeongnam Provincial Government goal of ‘Coexistence and Growth,’ we will open an era of happiness for our residents.”
County Governor Jin Byeong-young said, “I hope this visit will be a starting point for Gyeongsangnam-do and Hamyang County to move toward a brighter future,” and added, “We will continue to do our best for coexistence, growth, and a hopeful Gyeongnam through ongoing communication and cooperation.”
Before the Resident Win-Win Talk, Governor Park visited major project sites in Hamyang County, including the Oriental Medicine Wellness Tourism Hub Project site and the Foreign Seasonal Worker Support Center.
First, at Baekyeon Recreation Area near Sangnim Park, where 18.2 billion KRW has been invested to create a wellness healing center, food culture experience center, and medicinal food care facilities as part of the Oriental Medicine Wellness Tourism Hub Project, Governor Park urged the county to complete the project perfectly so that Hamyang can become the center of the wellness tourism industry.
He also visited the Foreign Seasonal Worker Support Center to check on its operation status. Hamyang County is leading efforts to solve rural labor shortages by opening the nation’s first seasonal worker support center and securing national funds through additional construction of dormitories for agricultural workers.
