Addressing Nutritional Imbalances and Ensuring Stable Access to Quality Food for Vulnerable Groups
Nowon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will implement the <2025 Agricultural and Food Voucher Program> to promote balanced food intake among vulnerable groups and expand the foundation for sustainable agricultural and food consumption.
The support targets households receiving livelihood benefits (with a standard median income of 32% or less) that include pregnant women, infants, and children under 18 years old. Vouchers will be provided monthly for up to 10 months, with amounts based on household size: 40,000 KRW for one person and 100,000 KRW for four people. The estimated number of eligible households is 992, the largest scale among Seoul’s 25 autonomous districts.
Voucher-using households can purchase domestic vegetables, fruits, meat, fresh eggs, white milk, mixed grains, and tofu products using the agricultural and food voucher card. Voucher usage locations include ▲large marts such as Nonghyup Hanaro Mart and GS The Fresh ▲convenience stores ▲medium and small marts such as Oasis ▲online malls including Nonghyup Mall and Indermarket Onnuri Mall.
Eligible households can apply starting Monday, February 17, by visiting their local community service center with identification or by applying via the agricultural and food voucher website (www.foodvoucher.go.kr) or by phone.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “We expect to resolve nutritional imbalances among vulnerable groups and will continuously strive to ensure stable access to quality food,” adding, “We encourage eligible households to actively apply.”
Reducing Living Expenses... Yeongdeungpo-gu Expands Recruitment of ‘Good Price Businesses’ to Boost Economy
Support Increased to 710,000 KRW per Good Price Business in the First Half of the Year
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will expand support by recruiting additional ‘Good Price Businesses’ until the 28th to ease residents’ living expenses and stabilize local prices.
‘Good Price Businesses’ are establishments that provide quality goods and services at prices lower than average despite challenging conditions such as rising labor and material costs.
Currently, there are 68 Good Price Businesses in the district. To alleviate household burdens caused by the ongoing economic downturn, 50 more businesses will be recruited this year. Recruitment fields include dining, beauty services, and laundry services.
Starting this year, not only individual business owners but also corporate business owners who are not franchisees can apply. Additionally, the support amount for the first half of the year has been increased to 710,000 KRW to enhance benefits for businesses.
Interested businesses can submit applications along with business registration certificates via email, fax, or in person to the Job Economy Division. Applicants will undergo document screening and on-site evaluations based on price appropriateness, hygiene, and cleanliness, with final selections made in April.
Designated Good Price Businesses will receive certification plaques at their entrances. They will also be registered on various map apps, allowing consumers to find nearby Good Price Businesses and check prices.
Mayor Choi Ho-kwon of Yeongdeungpo-gu stated, “Good Price Businesses contribute to price stabilization and bring new vitality to small business owners,” adding, “We will actively support these businesses and encourage residents’ interest and visits to ease living expenses and promote consumption recovery.”
