The South Korean men's ice hockey team advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games.
The team crushed Kyrgyzstan 20-0 in the quarterfinals held on the 11th at the student ice rink of Harbin Sport University in China.
The team, whose best-ever Asian Games result was a silver medal at the 2017 Sapporo Games, is aiming for the top spot in this tournament.
In this tournament, the six teams in Group A, composed of higher world-ranked teams, all advanced to the quarterfinals, and the first-place teams from Groups B and C joined them to compete in single-elimination matches from the quarterfinals to decide the medals.
Korea advanced to the quarterfinals as second place in Group A (11 points), following Kazakhstan (15 points). Against Kyrgyzstan, they scored 6 goals in the first period alone, exploded with 11 goals in the second period to secure an early lead, and added 3 goals in the third period.
The semifinal match will be held on the 13th.
