Attending Munich Security Conference... No Plans to Visit Moscow
President Trump Stresses Early End to Ukraine War
Zelensky to Meet U.S. Vice President Soon
Keith Kellogg, the special envoy for Ukraine and Russia appointed by U.S. President Donald Trump, is scheduled to visit Ukraine on the 20th, AFP reported on the 10th (local time), citing a source from the Ukrainian presidential office. This visit, planned just four days before the third anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war, is drawing attention as to whether concrete measures for an early end to the war will be proposed.
AFP reported that Kellogg's visit is set for the 20th. Before visiting Kyiv, Kellogg plans to attend the Munich Security Conference in Germany from the 14th to the 16th and visit the capitals of other major European countries to gather various opinions. However, Bloomberg reported that there are no plans to visit Moscow.
President Trump has instructed Special Envoy Kellogg to develop a concrete plan to end the war. Trump has emphasized the early resolution of the Russia-Ukraine war. He has expressed willingness to engage in direct talks with President Vladimir Putin to end the nearly three-year-long conflict and warned that if Putin refuses to meet, new sanctions would be imposed.
Close aides to President Trump are also expected to visit Ukraine this week. According to a video released by Ukraine's UNIAN news agency on the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "Before the Munich Security Conference this week, several key members of the Trump team will come to Ukraine." However, he did not specify who would be visiting.
President Zelensky will also attend the Munich Security Conference in Germany from the 14th to the 16th. A source from the Ukrainian presidential office told AFP that Zelensky plans to meet with U.S. Vice President JD Vance on the first day of the conference, the 14th.
