Early Strength in Yang Market... Bio and Robot Sectors Show Strong Performance

KOSPI Opens Up 0.5 Percent
Moves Within a Narrow Range

Both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets showed a firm upward trend in the early trading session.


On the 11th, the KOSPI opened at 2,532.87, up 0.46% from the previous day. As of 9:22 a.m., it recorded 2,528.04.


By investor type, individuals and institutions each net bought stocks worth 15.1 billion KRW and 14.5 billion KRW, respectively. Foreigners net sold stocks worth 32.5 billion KRW.


Most sectors were on the rise. The transportation equipment and parts sector rose the most, by 1.93%. This was followed by pharmaceuticals (1.00%), machinery and equipment (0.82%), and medical and precision instruments (0.65%). On the other hand, paper and wood (-0.65%) and electricity and gas (-0.21%) showed slight declines.


Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, more stocks rose than fell. Samsung Biologics had the largest increase at 2.0%. This was followed by Hyundai Motor (0.8%), HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (0.6%), Celltrion (0.5%), NAVER (0.4%), SK Hynix (0.2%), and LG Energy Solution (0.1%). Samsung Electronics (-0.7%), Kia (-0.5%), and KB Financial Group (-0.2%) declined.


The KOSDAQ also started trading at 751.25, up 0.21% from the previous day. It then slightly dropped to 749.67.


By investor type, only individuals net bought stocks worth 39.5 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions net sold stocks worth 30.3 billion KRW and 4.6 billion KRW, respectively.


Most sectors in the KOSDAQ market were also on the rise. The entertainment and culture sector stood out with a 1.77% increase. Distribution (0.68%), metals (0.54%), and transportation equipment and parts (0.50%) showed firm gains. Non-metallic minerals (-0.71%) and medical and precision instruments (-0.17%) declined.


Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, results were mixed. Rainbow Robotics rose 2.9%. Hugel (0.7%), Alteogen (0.2%), and EcoPro BM (0.1%) showed firm gains. Classys (-1.5%), Lino Industrial (-1.1%), HLB (-0.8%), and Rigachem Bio (-0.2%) declined.
