"I Will Strive to Improve the Quality of Korean Films"
The Korean Film Council announced on the 11th that it held the 2nd regular meeting of 2025 on the 7th and elected Yang Yun-ho as the new vice chairman. His term will last until May 23, 2027.
Vice Chairman Yang is a director who has directed films such as "Fighter in the Wind," "Holiday," and dramas like "Iris" and "Criminal Minds." He currently serves as a professor at Dongguk University Graduate School of Film and Digital Media, chairman of the Korean Federation of Film Workers, and a member of the organizing committee for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
He stated, "During the past seven months as a member of the Korean Film Council, I have given much thought to my role," and expressed his ambition, saying, "I will strive to improve the quality of Korean films and develop the film industry."
The vice chairman of the Korean Film Council is elected by mutual selection among the nine members. The vice chairman acts on behalf of the chairman when the chairman is unable to perform duties due to unavoidable reasons.
