Hamyang FC U-18 Inauguration Ceremony Held ... Regional Football Team Born After 33 Years

Establishing a Foundation for Local Football Development and Youth Training

Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 11th that it held the inauguration ceremony for ‘Hamyang FC U-18’ at Goun Gymnasium.

The event was attended by Jin Byeong-yeong, the county governor, Shin Seong-beom, member of the National Assembly, Kim Yoon-taek, chairman of Hamyang County Council, Kim Jae-ung, provincial council member, Ahn Byeong-myeong, chairman of Hamyang County Sports Council, and officials from the Korea Football Association, who celebrated the founding.

In particular, many figures from both inside and outside the region attended, expressing their expectations and support for the local football team being established for the first time in 33 years since the disbandment of the Hamyang Middle School football team.

At the inauguration ceremony, a business agreement signing ceremony was also held for the successful operation and sustainable development of ‘Hamyang FC U-18’.

Hamyang-gun, Hamyang County Council, Hamyang County Sports Council, and Hamyang FC participated in the agreement, promising active support to create the optimal training environment based on close cooperation.

After signing the agreement, Governor Jin Byeong-yeong presented the team flag embodying the team’s identity and vision, pledging to do his best to establish ‘Hamyang FC U-18’ as a football team representing the region.

‘Hamyang FC U-18’ plans to start participating in the ‘47th Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister’s Cup National High School Football Tournament’ held in Goseong-gun from the 14th, and will compete in national tournaments and weekend leagues to enhance practical skills and maximize the team’s strength.

Additionally, by combining systematic performance analysis and training, the team’s primary goal is to grow into a competitive team in national tournaments.

In his welcoming speech, Governor Jin said, “The founding of Hamyang FC is a new challenge for Hamyang in ‘regional development through sports.’ It will not only provide new opportunities for youth but also positively impact community development and population inflow. I ask for the continuous interest of the residents.”

National Assembly member Shin Seong-beom said, “I congratulate Hamyang, which has produced outstanding football talents such as Ha Seok-ju and Choi Dae-sik, for once again taking on the challenge of being known as ‘Hamyang when it comes to football.’”

Choi Young-il, vice president of the Korea Football Association, conveyed the association’s support message, saying, “With such a wonderful football team being founded, I hope it will become a team that not only plays football well but also produces excellent football players.”

Ahn Byeong-myeong, chairman of Hamyang County Sports Council, expressed gratitude, saying, “I thank Governor Jin Byeong-yeong and Chairman Kim Yoon-taek for their efforts in founding Hamyang FC,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that Hamyang FC, founded after 33 years, plays a significant role in regional development.”

‘Hamyang FC U-18’ will be operated with active support from Hamyang-gun and the county sports council, serving as a central role in expanding local football infrastructure and nurturing promising players. In particular, it plans to further expand the local football base through participation in various competitions.
