Driving Growth of Local SMEs
Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC), has embarked on a full-scale effort to foster regional strategic industries.
The SBC announced that Chairman Kang visited the Gimhae Golden Route General Industrial Complex in Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province on the 11th. This visit was part of the 'Visiting SBC' communication program, which connects small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on-site with policies, aiming to directly hear voices from the field and contribute to resolving management difficulties of companies and the development of regional strategic industries.

At the on-site communication event, Chairman Kang, Jung Hoe-seong, Chairman of the Gimhae Golden Route General Industrial Complex Managers' Association and CEO of Samhoe Industry, along with about 10 representatives from companies engaged in strategic industries located in Gimhae’s major industrial complexes such as future automobiles, intelligent robots, bio-life and medical devices, attended.
The attendees discussed ▲2025 support projects including policy funds ▲solutions to on-site difficulties such as manpower shortages in SMEs ▲directions for the development of regional strategic industries. Additionally, the attending businesspeople suggested the need for customized support to enhance the competitiveness of local SMEs.
The SBC plans to actively link the support projects currently underway, such as the win-win growth network and joint business conversion, with regional policies by collecting on-site opinions from businesspeople.
Chairman Kang also visited Young Chemical, a specialized manufacturer of wound care products such as disposable and medical bandages, to inspect the production site and discuss difficulties and current issues. Founded in 1986, Young Chemical moved into the Gimhae Golden Route Industrial Complex in 2015. In addition to domestic sales, its continuous export efforts earned it the ‘10 Million Dollar Export Tower’ award last year.
Chairman Kang stated, “We will strengthen the foundation for fostering regional strategic industries in response to changes in the industrial paradigm and spare no support so that our companies can lead regional economic growth.”
