KCC has developed artificial intelligence (AI) technology that enables paint colors desired by customers to be created on-site at dealerships.
On the 11th, KCC announced the successful commercialization of the 'KCC Smart 2.0' system. This system is an upgraded version of 'KCC Smart,' which KCC developed in 2023. KCC Smart is an AI-based color design system that can complete the entire process from paint color formulation design to actual mixing within 5 minutes at dealerships.
Through continuous research and development, KCC developed technology that allows colors not included in the database to be measured and mixed on-site at dealerships, and applied this technology to KCC Smart 2.0. Even if the desired color is not in the existing database, AI color measurement devices can measure it instantly, and through interaction with the AI mixing system, optimal color formulation data can be derived.

KCC developed an AI-based mixing system that allows consumers, dealerships, and the company to all win-win, in response to the increasing demand for unique colors reflecting individual tastes due to the diversification of residential environments and lifestyles, and the spread of the self-interior trend.
KCC stated, "Dealerships that have adopted this system have secured a super-gap capability to realize any color desired by consumers, including all paint colors worldwide from other brands, within 5 to 10 minutes, and have greatly improved dealership operational efficiency."
In particular, it was explained that unnecessary waiting times are reduced, greatly enhancing customer convenience and satisfaction. Previously, it took an average of 2 to 3 days to realize colors not registered in the existing color code as paint due to multiple processes, but now the desired color can be created immediately within about 5 minutes.
There is also the advantage of increasing the utilization of existing paints by finding the optimal mixing formulation to make existing colors into target colors. This reduces the number of times new paint orders and deliveries are required, saving material, human, and time costs. The burden on dealerships for precise mixing, which requires expensive equipment and expert training and consumes significant time and cost, has also been alleviated.
