"Boss, Thank You"... The 'Gift' Sent by LG Electronics

Over 20,000 Laptops Provided to Employees with School-Aged Children in 5 Years
LG Expands Options to Include LG StanbyMe 2 Starting This Year

LG Electronics will deliver congratulatory gifts such as laptops and stationery sets to employees with children entering elementary, middle, and high school early next month. Since the program's inception in 2021, LG Electronics has gifted over 22,000 laptops over the past five years and plans to continuously expand the range of options available.

On the 11th, LG Electronics announced that it provides 'lifecycle-customized gifts' to celebrate employees' children's school admissions and support their new school life. Employees can apply for a laptop once per child, timed with the child's school admission. This year, approximately 3,000 children born in 2018 (elementary school), 2012 (middle school), and 2009 (high school) are expected to receive gifts.

Considering various learning environments, LG Electronics added the LG StanbyMe 2 to the options alongside the LG Gram laptop starting this year. In this case, a dedicated speaker and wireless earphones are also provided. The LG StanbyMe 2 is the sequel released after four years, following the LG StanbyMe which pioneered the 'wireless portable lifestyle screen' genre, allowing the screen and stand to be easily separated with the push of a button. An employee whose child received a laptop as a school admission gift this year said, "With my two children entering elementary and middle school respectively this year, each needed their own laptop for classes and assignments, and thanks to the company, the burden was eased."

In addition to laptops and StanbyMe, LG Electronics will provide additional gifts consisting of stationery sets and sportswear to 1,500 employees with children entering elementary school. The congratulatory letter sent under the name 'President Ajusshi' from CEO Jo Joo-wan includes messages such as "If you listen well to your teachers and get along well with your friends, school life will be exciting and fun" and "We support you to grow beautiful dreams and live a bright and healthy school life." Since 2014, 24,000 employees' children have received elementary school admission gifts, and replies such as "Thank you, President Ajusshi" have been received.

Since 2022, parental leave has been guaranteed for up to two years, and there is also a 'childcare working hours reduction system' that allows reduced working hours from one hour up to five hours per day.
