According to Pocheon City on the 10th, the city demolished the existing terminal and renovated it to provide citizens with a comfortable and relaxing shelter while focusing on improving the city’s aesthetics.

Pocheon Bus Terminal, located at the center of Pocheon, is a key transportation facility that had long required maintenance due to aging buildings and poor infrastructure. In response, the city promoted the Pocheon Terminal Park Project as a priority, aiming to revitalize the downtown area by linking transportation facilities with a park.

The Pocheon Bus Terminal opened on the 20th of last month and is currently operating normally. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing convenient use at any time. The terminal is designed to be user-friendly; the waiting room is equipped with heating and cooling facilities and receives natural light, ensuring a consistently pleasant environment. Passengers can check the real-time operation status of all intercity buses entering the terminal via installed LED monitors. Tickets can be easily purchased at the ticket office or through ticket vending machines (kiosks), and if needed, assistance is available by pressing the call bell.

The terminal design follows public design guidelines and is in the process of obtaining barrier-free certification. It considers mobility convenience for the disabled and includes braille signs, tactile blocks, and accessible restrooms. Plans are underway to add nursing rooms and rest areas for pregnant women.

In the future, neighborhood living facilities such as convenience stores and shops will be established, along with passenger convenience facilities like an information search corner and luggage storage. A Pocheon City promotional center will also operate in the waiting room to introduce Pocheon to visitors.

Outside the terminal, a lawn plaza and a beautiful park have been created. The park features benches, pavilions, and cooling fog systems to provide citizens with a comfortable place to relax.

Currently, the Pocheon Bus Terminal operates two routes: the upward and downward lines. The main routes on the upward line are Dongseoul, Gyeongbu, Uijeongbu, and Incheon Airport, while the downward line serves Wasuri, Dongsong, Uncheon, and Sincheorwon. Route buses include numbers 3000, 3001, 3002, and 7600, which operate regularly between the upward and downward lines.

Bus number 3000 departs from Dongseoul, passes through Pocheon, and continues to Sinbuk, Yangmun, Uncheon, Gangpori, and Sincheorwon. Bus number 3001 runs round trips between Uijeongbu, Dongsong, and Pocheon. Bus number 3002 departs from Dongseoul and Wasuri, passing through Pocheon. Bus number 7600 operates round trips between Dongsong, Incheon Airport, and Pocheon.

The first bus departing from Pocheon Bus Terminal is the 7600 bound for Incheon Airport at 5:30 a.m., enhancing convenience for airport users. Youth passengers receive a 30% discount, and children receive a 50% discount from the standard adult fare.

Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, said, “The newly renovated Pocheon Public Bus Terminal is the gateway and first impression of Pocheon. We hope it will continue to guarantee citizens’ transportation convenience while establishing itself as a safe resting place and a landmark with park functions.”
