APR Achieves Record High with 722.8 Billion KRW in Sales and 122.7 Billion KRW Operating Profit Last Year

Global beauty tech company APR (CEO Kim Byung-hoon) has once again set a record high by surpassing annual sales of 700 billion KRW and operating profit of 120 billion KRW last year, putting the breakthrough of trillion KRW in annual sales within sight this year.

On the 10th, APR announced its preliminary earnings, reporting consolidated annual sales of 722.8 billion KRW and operating profit of 122.7 billion KRW for last year. This represents a 38.0% increase in sales and a 17.7% increase in operating profit compared to the same period last year, achieving 11 consecutive years of sales growth based on the fiscal year. APR recorded operating profits exceeding 100 billion KRW for two consecutive years and showed stable profitability with net profit exceeding 100 billion KRW, growing 30% year-on-year through successful financial product management.

In particular, quantitative growth was remarkable. Despite domestic and international economic uncertainties, APR demonstrated outstanding growth with a sales growth rate close to 40%, proving its growth potential not only in beauty but across the industry. Considering that APR recorded sales of 523.8 billion KRW with a growth rate of 31.7% in 2023, entering the ranks of mid-sized companies, 2024 is notable for accelerating growth with an even higher growth rate than before. In the fourth quarter, which has historically recorded the best external performance every year, APR achieved its highest-ever quarterly results with sales of 244.2 billion KRW and operating profit of 39.6 billion KRW.

By business segment, growth in the cosmetics/beauty sector attracted attention. The cosmetics/beauty sector recorded a growth rate of 103.2% year-on-year in the fourth quarter alone, achieving quarterly sales of 116.3 billion KRW and annual sales of 338.5 billion KRW. Especially, it showed rapid growth centered on the U.S. market, strengthening its position in the global market. In fact, based on the highest rankings on Amazon U.S. in the fourth quarter of last year, ‘Zero Pore Pad’ ranked first in the Toners & Astringents category, ‘Collagen Night Wrapping Mask’ ranked second in the Facial Masks category, and ‘Collagen Jelly Cream’ ranked third in the Face Moisturizer category, with Medicube cosmetics continuing their strong performance.

The Medicube AGE-R beauty device segment also led overall performance with annual sales of 312.6 billion KRW, a 44.6% increase compared to the previous year, alongside cosmetics/beauty. In particular, sales of the flagship product ‘Booster Pro’ began in earnest last year, and new sales of second-generation devices such as ‘Ultratune 40.68,’ ‘High Focus Shot,’ and ‘Booster Pro Mini’ continued actively. As of the end of last year, the cumulative domestic and international sales volume of AGE-R beauty devices exceeded 3 million units, with ‘Booster Pro’ alone achieving sales of over 1 million units as a single model.

By region, high growth rates stood out in overseas markets. APR’s overseas sales in the fourth quarter of last year grew 135% year-on-year, surpassing 150 billion KRW. This marked the first time since its founding that APR’s annual overseas sales exceeded 400 billion KRW. Especially rapid growth was notable in the U.S. Riding the wave of K-beauty’s hot popularity, APR achieved great success during Amazon Prime Day in the U.S. and recorded huge hits in year-end promotions such as Black Friday. Overseas B2B sales, which began in earnest last year, also showed a 1171% increase year-on-year in the fourth quarter alone. APR expanded its business to Europe, South America, and the Middle East through B2B operations targeting overseas distributors, agents, and retailers, and is expanding to more countries this year.

APR plans to maintain its growth trend based on cosmetics and beauty devices in 2025, aiming to maximize sales. If the current growth momentum continues, ‘trillion KRW sales’ will come within reach, and the company intends to focus all efforts on expanding domestic and overseas businesses. In particular, the newly launched PDRN cosmetics are receiving positive responses overseas, establishing a new sales driver following the existing Zero Line and Collagen Line, while global home beauty device market penetration through new device launches will also continue.

An APR official stated, “Despite the unstable economic situation, we were able to set a new record high again through simultaneous achievements in cosmetics and beauty devices,” adding, “In 2025, we will take a step further to become a trillion KRW sales company by maximizing external growth.”
