At a briefing that day, the Ministry of Economy and Finance stated regarding the schedule for the call between Acting Prime Minister Choi and President Trump, "An offer has been made through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," adding, "We understand that contact will come depending on their (U.S.) circumstances."
Acting Prime Minister Choi has not yet spoken with President Trump, who took office on the 20th of last month. When President Trump was a first-term president in 2017, he spoke with then-Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn just 10 days after his inauguration.
It is reported that during that call, President Trump demanded various bills, including the renegotiation of the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
