Dangjin City Selected for Rural Space Improvement Project... Secures 2.3 Billion Won in National Funding Chungnam Provincial Government Office / Chungnam Province

Chungnam Province announced on the 10th that Dangjin City has been selected for the "Rural Space Improvement Project" organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing 2.3 billion KRW in national funding.

The Rural Space Improvement Project has been promoted since 2021 with the aim of restoring the functions of rural areas as places to live, work, and relax, in response to haphazard development and rural depopulation.

Dangjin City plans to invest a total of 4.5 billion KRW, including national and municipal funds, to demolish and improve livestock farms and abandoned livestock facilities in Chodae-ri and Namsan-ri, Sinpyeong-myeon by 2028, with the goal of enhancing the residential environment for residents, strengthening community capacity, and operating public-private governance.

The province explained that with Dangjin City being selected for the Rural Space Improvement Project this time, a total of 100 billion KRW will be invested in 11 districts within Chungnam, including previously selected areas.

The province has so far conducted preliminary expert consultations and on-site inspections, and has discussed ways to minimize inconvenience and damage to residents caused by hazardous facilities.

Lee Hyukse, head of the Rural Restructuring Division of the province, said, "We will actively promote the Rural Space Improvement Project in line with changes in rural restructuring policies," adding, "We will improve the residential conditions in rural areas of the province, lay the foundation for balanced regional development, and enhance the quality of life for residents."
