BISTEP Expands 'Science, Technology, and Industry Information Services' to Strengthen Research Capabilities in Busan

‘Daily Pick’ Expands Science and Industry Information Service, Resumes from the 24th
‘B-INFO’ Offers Busan-Style Infographics to Make Complex Science and Technology Information More Accessible

Busan Institute for Science and Technology Promotion (BISTEP, Director Kim Young-bu) announced on the 10th that it will expand science and technology and industry information services to strengthen the research capabilities of innovation entities in the Busan area by revamping the science and technology trend information magazine ‘Daily Pick’ and expanding the infographic service ‘B-INFO’.

According to the recently released results of the ‘Regional Science and Technology Innovation Capability Evaluation (R-COSTII),’ acquiring the latest science and technology information was identified as a key factor determining regional growth potential. In response, BISTEP is focusing on strengthening regional innovation capabilities through systematic and professional analysis and provision of science, technology, and industry trend information.

Since its launch in 2019, ‘Daily Pick’ has played a role in comprehensively providing the latest information in the science, technology, and industry fields, enhancing the responsiveness of local research and industry entities, and promoting technological innovation. Especially from this year, it has strengthened existing information such as △government R&D policy information △science, technology, and industry trends △national and Busan regional R&D project announcements, while adding new content such as △overseas R&D trends △R&D event information, and redesigned the layout to improve the visibility and usefulness of the information service, resuming service from the 24th of last month.

In addition, to intuitively deliver difficult regional science, technology, and industry information, the infographic service ‘B-INFO,’ which visualizes key content, is also being provided. This year, the themes of ‘B-INFO’ will be diversified to increase accessibility to science and technology information and support citizens in more easily understanding and utilizing complex information.

BISTEP Team Leader Hong Sung-soo said, “We will provide fast and accurate information in the rapidly changing science, technology, and industry environment to help local researchers and companies respond effectively,” adding, “Through the expansion of Daily Pick and B-INFO services, we will promote industry-academia-research cooperation and contribute to the commercialization of research outcomes and activation of startups.”

The Daily Pick mailing information service is available for free subscription and can be easily subscribed to through the Busan Science and Technology Information Service (BTIS) website.
