Gyeongnam Nonghyup Holds Agricultural Food Export Level-Up Advancement Competition

Gyeongnam Nonghyup Holds Export Advancement Meeting
Aims for $100 Million in Agricultural Food Exports This Year

Gyeongnam Nonghyup has launched full-scale activities to achieve $100 million in agricultural food exports this year.

On the 10th, Gyeongnam Nonghyup held the 2025 Agricultural Food Export Level-Up Advancement Meeting at the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the Nonghyup Gyeongnam Headquarters. About 40 people attended, including 24 export specialized organizations of Gyeongnam Nonghyup, Gyeongsangnam-do, aT Gyeongnam Headquarters, and the Agricultural Food Export Department of Nonghyup Economic Holdings.

At the advancement meeting, an analysis of the current export status of Gyeongnam Nonghyup and the export promotion direction for 2025 were shared. There was also a session to listen to explanations about this year’s export support policies of Gyeongsangnam-do and government (aT) export support projects, followed by a heated discussion on ways to strengthen export competitiveness.

Despite difficult export conditions such as increased export costs due to global inflation, deteriorating profitability of export farms caused by the prolonged depreciation of the Japanese yen, and changes in the agricultural environment due to climate change, Gyeongnam Nonghyup resolved to achieve $100 million in agricultural food exports this year and decided to focus on revitalizing exports.

To this end, Nonghyup plans to strengthen export competitiveness through ▲ fostering export specialized organizations as exclusive shipment organizations by item within Nonghyup ▲ reinforcing connections with government-promoted 'integrated export organizations' ▲ establishing Nonghyup export hubs by spreading direct delivery export models ▲ strengthening export production bases ▲ responding to the abolition of export logistics costs, participating in policies, and expanding export funding support ▲ promoting export expansion by diversifying export countries ▲ and promoting local market marketing in cooperation with related organizations.

Gyeongsangnam-do will respond to the abolition of export logistics costs by expanding provincial funding in 2025 following 2024, supporting export farms, producer groups, and export companies through the K-Agricultural Products Strategic Item Integrated Support Project to maintain the quality of fresh export agricultural products and promote export activation projects.

Ryu Gil-nyeon, head of Gyeongnam Nonghyup Headquarters, said, “We will strengthen support for production area Nonghyup, establish a support system through internal and external cooperation, and do our best to secure export competitiveness by fostering export specialized organizations and expanding overseas market channels.”
