Incheon City to Launch 'i Plus Mannam Dream' Project to Encourage Meetings and Marriages Among Young People
Incheon City is set to actively promote the 'i Plus Mannam Dream' project, which encourages meetings and marriages among unmarried men and women as part of its policy measures to address low birth rates.
On the 10th, the city announced that it is recruiting subcontractors to manage the i Plus Mannam Dream project. This project supports dating and marriage among young people and will be carried out from June, divided into the 'Couple Festival' and 'My Own Wedding' programs.
The Couple Festival is an event that provides natural meeting opportunities for unmarried men and women aged 24 to 39 who live or work in Incheon. It will be held five times annually, with 100 participants per event. The festival includes various programs such as recreational activities, and couples who form relationships will receive a set of date coupons.
My Own Wedding offers engaged couples free access to public wedding halls in Incheon and provides financial support of up to 1 million KRW toward wedding expenses.
The city plans to provide engaged couples selected for My Own Wedding support with information about the Incheon-style housing policy called 'i Plus Jip Dream,' linking support to reduce their housing burden. The i Plus Jip Dream project centers on the 'Thousand-Won Housing' program, which supplies rental housing to newlyweds at a daily rent of 1,000 KRW (30,000 KRW per month), and the 'Additional Interest Support for Newborn Special Loans' program, which helps families with newborns purchase their own homes.
The application period for subcontractors to manage the i Plus Mannam Dream project runs from today until the 24th and can be submitted through the Local Subsidy Management System (Botaem e).
Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, stated, "This project will provide meaningful opportunities for meetings and marriage to unmarried young people," adding, "We will continue to develop various policies to solve the low birth rate issue."
