Installation of Sewage Pipelines and Pumping Stations with an Investment of 21.7 Billion KRW
Buyeo County in Chungnam Province announced on the 10th that it will invest 21.7 billion KRW to carry out a rural village sewage maintenance project in four villages, including Hongsan-myeon and Nam-myeon, where sewage systems have not yet been supplied.
The villages in question are Johyeon-ri and Jeongdong-ri in Hongsan-myeon, and Samyong-ri and Songhak-ri in Nam-myeon. The county plans to install 15.519 kilometers of sewage pipelines, 19 pumping stations, and drainage facilities for 377 households in these areas by next year.
Currently, these areas use individual sewage treatment facilities (septic tanks), resulting in untreated domestic wastewater flowing into rivers and village drainage channels, causing odor and water pollution and inconveniencing residents.
The county expects that by connecting the sewage from these villages to the wastewater treatment facility in the Buyeo General Industrial Complex, it will be able to save about 3 billion KRW in construction costs and approximately 40 million KRW in annual operating expenses.
County Governor Park Junghyun stated, "The rural village sewage maintenance project is essential not only for protecting the water quality of discharge areas but also as a fundamental project for the safety and welfare of our residents," adding, "We will continue to strive to secure national funding and expand sewage maintenance areas to improve living conditions in rural regions."
