EY Hanyoung Launches Global Trade Advisory Team to Support Rapidly Changing US Tariff and Trade Policy Responses

On this day, EY Han Young stated, "In the rapidly changing international trade environment influenced by the inauguration of the second Trump administration in the United States, we collaborate with local experts in the U.S. to provide more localized trade advisory services so that Korean companies can minimize tariff burdens and build efficient supply chains."

Recently, due to the U.S. government's imposition of high tariffs, intensifying trade conflicts, and supply chain restructuring, Korean companies have faced increasingly complex trade concerns. Accordingly, Korean companies exporting to the U.S. need to understand the impact of new U.S. trade policies and develop strategic responses to alleviate tariff burdens.

Through the Global Trade Advisory Team, which consists of tax experts from various fields, EY Han Young plans to provide comprehensive trade advisory services including tariff optimization, minimizing tax risks, global supply chain optimization strategies, compliance with origin regulations, and trade dispute responses, supporting domestic companies to effectively respond to changes in the international trade environment. Based on high expertise and extensive experience, and through connection with the EY global network, they will closely collaborate with local trade and tax experts in the U.S. to present practical response strategies.

The EY Han Young Global Trade Advisory Team is led by Kyungtae Ko, Head of the Tax Division. The practical team leader is Partner Ilyoung Jung, an expert in U.S. site selection, incentive negotiations, and U.S. tax law. The team is composed of specialists in each field, including Transfer Pricing Head Insik Jung, International Tax Partner Namwoon Jang, and Customs Partner Dongo Park. By leveraging know-how accumulated from numerous successful cases of U.S. investment tax credits and other incentives, they plan to support Korean companies' entry into and exports to the U.S. through cooperation with U.S. trade experts.

Kyungtae Ko, Head of the Tax Division at EY Han Young, said, "Amid the rapidly changing global trade environment, domestic companies need to accurately understand local markets and require more sophisticated global trade strategies. The EY Han Young Global Trade Advisory Team will provide comprehensive support in close cooperation with the EY global network to help Korean companies minimize tariff burdens and build optimal supply chains."

Meanwhile, EY Han Young will hold the ‘2025 EY Han Young Revised Tax Law Seminar’ on the 19th to introduce this year’s tax law amendments and tariff and tax policies following the inauguration of the second Trump administration in the U.S.
