Gyeonggi Province is recruiting seven organizations to carry out the ‘Support Project for the Transition to Old Age for People with Developmental Disabilities’ by the 14th of this month.
The Support Project for the Transition to Old Age for People with Developmental Disabilities helps individuals with developmental disabilities live independently in the community even without a guardian.
It creates individual groups consisting of people with developmental disabilities aged 35 and over, social workers, local residents, acquaintances, and volunteers, through which various programs will be provided.
Organizations wishing to participate should submit the application form and other required documents to the Gyeonggi Developmental Disabilities Support Center by email (toksa0509@koddi.or.kr) or by mail (Room 304, Songsan Building, 76 Yongmin-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, Postal Code 11785) by the 14th of this month.
Gyeonggi Province will conduct an in-person review on the 19th and announce the selection results on the 24th.
Kim Yeonseop, Director of the Disability Independence Support Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We expect that people with developmental disabilities will be able to face old age with systematic preparation," and added, "We hope many organizations will participate in the recruitment."
