On the 7th (local time), during the second round of the tournament held at Bradenton Country Club (par 71, 6,465 yards) in Bradenton, Florida, USA, she recorded eight birdies without any bogeys. She jumped from a tie for 6th place the previous day to the lead (12-under 130 strokes).
Since her first LPGA Tour win in 2017, Ko Jin-young had won every year up to 2023, except last year when she did not secure a victory. Her most recent win was at this tournament in May 2023. Ko Jin-young has claimed the title at the Founders Cup in recent odd-numbered years?2019, 2021, and 2023?and this year is her turn to win again. She has shown good form early in the season, finishing tied for 4th at last week's season opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament Champions.
Lim Jin-hee, Angel Yin, and No Ye-rim (all from the USA), along with Minami Katsu (Japan), are tied for 2nd place (10-under 132 strokes). World No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) finished the second round tied for 13th place (6-under 136 strokes). Yoon In-na, who attracted attention with her LPGA Tour debut, missed the cut. She made three birdies and six bogeys that day, finishing tied for 94th place (4-over 146 strokes), failing to advance to the third round.
