Jeonnam Province Aims to Promote Everyday Sports Activities

Secured 3.1 Billion Won in National Funding for Sports for All Support Project
Nine Regional Autonomous Sports for All Activities Selected
Sports Education Programs for Seniors and More to Be Operated

Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it has secured 3.1 billion won in national funding for the 2025 Sports for All Support Project, ranking third among the 17 metropolitan local governments.


The Sports for All Support Project is promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to vitalize sports for all and enhance public health. It is operated through three programs: 'Support for Regional Autonomous Sports for All Activities,' 'Exciting Weekend Sports Program Support,' and 'School Sports Facility Opening Support.'


Jeollanam-do has secured and will support 1.4 billion won for regional autonomous sports for all activities, 700 million won for school sports facility opening, and 1 billion won for the exciting weekend sports program.


For the regional autonomous sports for all activities support project, nine projects were selected?the highest number among the 17 metropolitan local governments?raising expectations for further vitalization of sports for all in Jeollanam-do.


With the secured budget, Jeollanam-do plans to expand senior sports support activities from 22 to 29 locations compared to last year, increase Haedal Maji Sports for All Classes from 16 to 21 locations, and expand the opening of school sports facilities to 48 schools, 22 more than last year.


In addition, the province will continue to strengthen accessibility to sports for all and expand administrative and financial support so that more residents can benefit.


Oh Mikyung, Director of the Sports Industry Division of Jeollanam-do, said, "In the past, the sports industry was revitalized through the fostering of elite sports, but now is the time to popularize and integrate sports into daily life through the promotion of sports for all," adding, "We will do our best to create a healthy Jeollanam-do through the vitalization of sports for all."
