KOSPI and KOSDAQ Close Flat... Foreigners and Institutions Both Sell

Samsung Biologics Closes Up Over 6%
Rainbow Robotics Also Rises 9.6%

The KOSPI closed the session on the 7th slightly down, while the KOSDAQ ended slightly up. In both markets, only individual investors showed net buying, whereas foreigners and institutions sold stocks.


On this day, the KOSPI closed at 2,521.92, down 0.58% from the previous day.


By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold stocks worth 239.1 billion KRW and 210.2 billion KRW, respectively. Only individuals net bought stocks worth 331.8 billion KRW.


Most sectors showed a downward trend. Medical and precision instruments (-4.26%), electricity and gas (-4.07%) fell more than 4%. Insurance (-1.72%), chemicals (-1.70%), food and tobacco (-1.48%), paper and wood (-1.30%), transportation and warehousing (-1.18%) also experienced significant declines. Only pharmaceuticals (2.81%), securities (1.02%), and construction (0.51%) rose.


Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, most declined. NAVER (-2.8%), Kia (-2.3%), LG Energy Solution (-1.7%), Hyundai Motor (-1.4%) showed notable drops. Only three stocks rose: Samsung Biologics (6.5%), HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (2.6%), and KB Financial Group (1.3%).


The KOSDAQ closed at 742.90, up 0.35% from the previous day.


Similarly, in the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and institutions continued their joint selling. Foreigners net sold stocks worth 10.1 billion KRW, and institutions net sold 52.7 billion KRW. Only individuals net bought stocks worth 79.5 billion KRW.


By sector, machinery and equipment (2.85%), non-metallic minerals (2.82%), electrical and electronics (0.95%), manufacturing (0.78%), and publishing and media reproduction (0.70%) rose. Transportation and warehousing (-1.31%), manufacturing (-1.10%), and metals (-0.79%) declined.


The top market capitalization stocks showed mixed results. Rainbow Robotics rose the most at 9.6%. HLB (0.9%), Classys (0.7%), and EcoPro (0.3%) also increased. On the other hand, Samchundang Pharmaceuticals fell 4.7%. EcoPro BM (-1.3%) and Ligacym Bio (-1.2%) declined.
